There is certainly no shortage of recruitment agencies in London. With every one of them promising to ‘build a relationship’ with you and ‘work hard for your businesses success’ it can be hard to figure out who you can trust with your job vacancy.
So which London recruitment agencies are best? The reality is that some recruitment agencies in London are head and shoulders above the rest. These are the companies that reliably deliver the results employers are looking for.
It’s no secret that recruiters and the recruitment industry in general often get a bad press. At Venturi we have met with countless clients who have told us horror stories about recruitment agencies they have worked with in the past. Unsurprisingly, when an employer has a bad experience with one recruitment agency, they’re likely to have reservations about investing more money in another. Some companies even choose to move away from recruitment agencies entirely and switch to in-house recruiting.
However, this isn’t always a wise business decision. Running a company is time consuming enough without having to take time out to sort through mountains of CVs and application forms.
Common reasons for bad experiences
When employers talk about poor experiences with recruitment agencies, a few common themes tend to emerge. These include:
- Poor communication – the consultant did not stay in regular contact.
- Lack of understanding of the job role, resulting in irrelevant CVs which waste valuable time.
- Not briefing the candidate properly prior to interview.
- A failure to manage expectations resulting in deadlines being missed.
- Failing to close/secure the clients chosen candidate.
All these reasons have one thing in common – they waste the time of both employers and candidates. This is extremely frustrating as one of the key benefits of working with a good agency should be that employer saves time and money while the agency takes care of the hard work behind the scenes.
To help you avoid being stung by a subpar agency, we have selected and presented seven of the best London recruitment agencies across a range of different specialist sectors. We used a number of sources to put together our list including media listings, client reviews, award winners and our own searches.
